Notts Network meeting 28th January 2026
Catch up on the key discussions shaping the future of the Nottinghamshire Network. Our January meeting brought together u3as from across the county for a lively and constructive start to 2026. Alongside updates on events, training, and national initiatives, members took part in focused breakout discussions exploring how we communicate across the Network and how our Council Representatives can best champion local voices. Ideas ranged from clearer, more accessible reporting to regular agenda items for raising issues, as well as practical suggestions on attracting younger members, improving diversity, and strengthening succession planning. Notts Network AGM 22nd October 2025 & Chairs Report October 2025
The Nottinghamshire Network AGM held at St Peter’s, Ravenshead reported a strong year: officers were re-elected with John Butler as Chair, subscriptions remain at £15 and the accounts were accepted. Members praised the Groups workshop and requested more training on social media, marketing and coordinator support. Visiting speaker Sheila Crawley’s talk was recorded and her social-media notes were later circulated to member u3as. A fuller report with photos and videos can be found here:

📌 Nottinghamshire Network July Meeting Overview
The July 2025 meeting brought together representatives from across the Nottinghamshire Network, with a warm welcome extended to new members. Key updates included the success of the June Network Workshop, progress on the website redesign, and ongoing developments in peer support and learning opportunities. Informative presentations covered national volunteering efforts, online training sessions, and an expanding inter-u3a Walking Exchange initiative.
Members are reminded of the upcoming Newsbites deadline on 7 August and encouraged to contribute. The next Network meeting and AGM will be held on Wednesday 22 October 2025 in Ravenshead, marking the transition to a new Chair.

At the 23 April meeting of the Nottinghamshire u3a Network, members heard that our funds remain healthy and were reminded to promote the 23 June workshop to all interest-group enthusiasts. The NewsBites team unveiled updated copyright-safe submission guidelines, and the new East Midlands Support Team outlined its role in strengthening regional links. We celebrated growing social-media engagement and Peer Support Groups, then explored the Third Age Trust’s “Fit for the Future” structure and emerging digital tools. Nominations for the next Network Chair (to take office after October’s AGM) are now open. Our next gathering is on 23 July at St Peter’s, Ravenshead.

On 22 January at St Peter’s Ravenshead the Network approved the October AGM minutes, reviewed finances and set a 7 February deadline for Newsbites contributions. New peer support groups were launched and plans made for a full-day workshop, members were reminded to vote in the Third Age Trust board elections by 21 February, and the next meeting was fixed for 23 April.
