EAST MIDLANDS REGION NEWS EXTRA -March 2026

More than 80 members from u3as across the East Midlands came together on 11 March for a lively regional workshop day at Braunstone Civic Centre. With updates from the Third Age Trust, practical sessions on growing your u3a and motivating volunteers, and plenty of shared ideas, the day left members inspired and energised for the year ahead.

Interest Groups Matter 2 – Network Workshop

A lively, face to face workshop for anyone involved in running or supporting u3a interest groups across Nottinghamshire. Whether you lead a group, organise sports or trips, co ordinate groups, or manage a website, you’re warmly invited.

The Network’s first u3a pétanque competition is set for Monday 18 May at Nottingham City Pétanque Club — and there’s still time to enter a team of four. Each team will play two pairs games per round, and you’re welcome to bring extra players so you can rotate throughout the day. If your group is keen, you could even field two full teams.
