Funding

Ruddington received a £250 grant from the South Nottinghamshire Place Based Partnership Growth Fund to produce health-promotion leaflets; enquiries and application details available from caitlinambrose@yourcvsnotts.org.

Gedling BC issues a Community and Voluntary Sector newsletter listing funding opportunities; sign up at the council’s Keep Me Posted service. Carlton and Gedling groups secured around £2,600 for AV equipment in the last year.

Nottinghamshire County Council runs a Local Communities Fund; applications for this round close on 7 November (check the council site for eligibility and submission details).

Public Relations

Bingham gained strong local coverage for its 25th anniversary by partnering with a local brewer (anniversary beer) and a food supplier — a good model for creating media interest.

Advocacy: The Third Age Trust urges u3as to contact their MPs; John Perry is exploring a Parliamentary Reception with Gedling MP Michael Payne.
