Nottinghamshire Network of u3as: October Meeting and Annual General Meeting
The October 2025 Notts Network meeting took place at the Ravenshead Centre at 10:00 am on Wednesday 22nd October.
The meeting started with some apologies, particularly from members who couldn’t attend at short notice due to illness. Consequently, the meeting was chaired by Rosie Allen, with Jean Hogg supporting by taking the minutes.
Rosie commented on the good attendance for the meeting and welcomed Sheila Crawley, the new Vice Chair of the u3a Trust, who had been invited to talk to the Network.
The business of the AGM was dealt with first, and new members to the committee were voted in, with John Butler standing as Chair for the next year. Full details will be available in the AGM minutes once they are posted on the Minutes page.
Sheila Crawley was then invited to address the meeting, and she gave an interesting talk outlining her u3a experiences so far, as well as giving us an idea of how her role might develop on the Trust Board. (NOTE: A video of Sheila’s talk is linked below.)
After a suitable break for refreshments ( with cake!), the meeting split into small groups to discuss a few questions on which the committee had requested feedback. This was a useful session, and committee members will be discussing the feedback at their next meeting.
